Zhengheng Power adds another “powerful tool”
The third set of German Sturm ACCS-TWS thermal spraying system for cylinder blocks has been brought on site for empowerment

Recently, the third set of ACCS-TWS cylinder block thermal spraying system, sourced from the German Sturm Group, has been officially installed at Zhengheng Power. This new equipment will efficiently complement the existing two sets of Oerlikon Metco equipment, further enhancing the company’s technical prowess in the field of cylinder block thermal spraying and continuously expanding its service boundaries.

The ACCS-TWS system, which has been launched this time, is a modular solution specially developed by the German Sturm Group for thermal spraying of cylinder bores. Its core highlights lie in its modular scientific design and integrated online detection capability: 1. Efficient zoning layout: The equipment adopts a three-chamber structural design, divided into three independent areas: loading and unloading area, spraying area, and control and feeding area. It supports simultaneous loading, unloading, and spraying, significantly improving production efficiency. 2. Precise detection and regulation: The loading and unloading area is equipped with a Cylinder Inspector, which can perform non-destructive optical inspection of cylinder bores before and after spraying, adjust the coating thickness in real time, and ensure that every spraying is precise and meets standards. 3. Intelligent system support: All motion axes are controlled by the Siemens 840D sl CNC system, ensuring high precision and high repeatability of the spraying path; the equipment size has also been optimized to perfectly fit the overall layout of the production line, seamlessly connecting the previous and next processes.

The core technological breakthrough of the Sturm ACCS-TWS system lies in achieving a closed-loop control system for inspection and process, completely breaking the traditional post-control mode that relies on offline sampling inspection. Through the integration of the Cylinder Inspector and Coating Optimizer, the system achieves full-process online inspection and adaptive regulation: before spraying, the Cylinder Inspector scans 100% of the cylinder bore after roughening, including key parameters such as tooth profile, depth, and spacing, with each cylinder inspection taking only 11.5 seconds, achieving high efficiency; after spraying, it can monitor coating defects, pore distribution, and other conditions in real-time, with detection accuracy reaching micron or even nanometer levels.
The Coating Optimizer automatically calculates the optimal spraying parameters based on the real-time data collected by the Cylinder Inspector, and dynamically adjusts the spraying strategy for the second pass based on the detection results of the first pass, ensuring that the machining allowance of each product is highly consistent. This “detection-driven process” model upgrades production control from “post-remedy” to “process control”, fundamentally ensuring the stability and consistency of mass production.

With the installation and commissioning of the third set of thermal spraying equipment, Zhengheng Power’s spraying service capabilities will undergo a comprehensive upgrade, enabling more flexible production. The three sets of equipment will operate in synergy, responding to the diverse needs of different customers simultaneously, significantly enhancing scheduling efficiency. It will also have a wider range of adaptability, with a dual-process compatibility mode that can cover more material systems and undertake more diversified spraying projects. Furthermore, it will provide a faster response, offering precise technical support throughout the entire process from sample trial production to mass production, efficiently matching the pace of customers’ projects.

Zhengheng Power goes beyond merely providing spray coating processing services. We deeply collaborate with our customers, optimizing coating materials and process parameters to assist them in achieving continuous upgrades in engine performance. Looking ahead, we look forward to collaborating with more forward-thinking manufacturers to explore more application scenarios for plasma thermal spraying technology.
